2. Week 1–2: Play Style & Prey Drive Test

Test one toy category per session (5 minutes max) to identify predatory preference.

Aerial / Bird Prey: Tested feather wand (jumps, tracks high) Floor / Mouse Prey: Tested felt mice / rolling balls (low crouch, pounce) Bug / Skitter Prey: Tested plastic coil springs / laser dot (fast chase) Food Motivation: Tested beginner sliding puzzle / slow feeder Ambush Play: Tested pop-up tunnel with wand peekaboo Observer Type: Prefers watching toy movement from afar

3. Safety & Inspection Protocol

Always inspect toys before allowing unsupervised play.

No loose strings, ribbons, or elastic bands left unattended Plastic eyes, noses, and bells removed or firmly sewn Automatic battery compartments screwed shut Feather lures inspected for sharp metal wire staples Foam balls inspected for bite marks or missing chunks Discarded toys with torn seams or exposed polyfill

4. 3-Bin Toy Rotation Schedule

Keep 2–3 active toys out at a time. Rotate weekly to preserve high novelty.
